Meet Dusty
When the Covid-19 lockdowns began, our church was pressured to close, and our congregants were pressured to wear masks. Through that ordeal, it quickly became clear that many pastors and churches were ill-equipped theologically to respond to immoral and illegal government mandates. As a pastor called by God to lead the congregation He has brought to me, I began a period of Biblical study regarding the proper role of government and the proper Christian response to tyranny.
Ever since, I have been drawn more and more into the political realm with opportunities to author statements on Christian public theology, speak at conservative conferences, and then be elected to the State Senate in 2023. When the District 32 seat was vacated mid-term, it was clear to me that God had been preparing me for this position.
First and foremost, I am a Christian, bought and redeemed by the blood of my Savior and King, Jesus Christ. My purpose in this campaign is to glorify God and fight for the causes I believe He would have me fight for.
After salvation, the greatest gift God has given me is my wife Christina, and together we have been blessed by God with six wonderful children: Nation, Noelle, Deacon, Roman, Juliet, and Aniah.
I've been a pastor at Grace Reformed Baptist Church of Elgin (formerly First Baptist Church and Grace Community Church) since 2016 where God has blessed me with an amazing and quickly growing group of fellow believers to grow with in the knowledge and love of Christ.
In 2001, I graduated with B.S. in biology from Oklahoma City University where I played baseball on scholarship, was an academic All-American, and was Mr. OCU in 1998-99 school year. In 2008, I graduated with a Masters of Divinity with languages from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
As the CEO of Deevers Properties, I am also a businessman with the administrative and financial acumen to help reach our state's potential as an economic powerhouse in the region.
Then in 2023, in the face of an unprecedented, million-dollar negative ad campaign against me, you elected me to represent you in the Oklahoma Senate. It has been the honor of a lifetime, something which I have not taken lightly. You sent me to Oklahoma City to fight against the establishment for conservative values, and I have taken every opportunity to do so.
Through all of these opportunities for statesmanship, spiritual leadership, cultural activism, and business operation, I believe God has prepared me for another term as your State Senator. I hope to hear from you in the coming months, and I hope you will join me in this effort to glorify God and see Oklahoma governed as God would have us governed!
